IT IS ALIIIIIIIIIIIVE!

So I finally finished the Neck Thingy I've been working on!  Yeah, I know, technical term, right?  Well, it's sort of like a button-on turtleneck, or a really small scarf.  I was walking to drama practice the other night, hunched into the fuzzy-collared coat that I borrowed from my boyfriend, when it hit me: even though scarf season is LONG over, it's still too cold and windy to be without something to fill in the gap between coat/hoodie and hat!

A partial ball of Bernat Natural Blends Bamboo and a little while later, I had a lovely rectangle with two buttonholes on one end.  Exactly what I wanted, but I still needed buttons to make the creation sing.

Well, today I was able to get to the craft store, and I got these spiffy wooden-looking buttons that go just perfectly with the greenish color of the yarn.  I wore it to practice today, and it is amazing!  I don't even realize I'm wearing it, the yarn is so soft (I am officially addicted to bamboo yarn).  I think it looks pretty cute, too.  Here it is:

My webcam is not amazing at showing the stitch definition.  I think, if I were to do it over again, I'd make it narrower and then edge it so that it looked a little smoother on the sides.  Ah well, it's comfy and now I have a spiffy Neck Thingy to keep my neck warm while I wait for Chicago to realize that IT IS SPRING TIME!!! GLARG!

I'm still debating whether to put up a pattern for this.  It's SO easy...just a rectangle with button holes on one end and then buttons on the other.  On the other hand, I'm pretty proud of it. . . I don't know.

Anyway, off to bed before I collapse!
